Going viral: old-fashioned

Going viral the old-fashioned way, without AI. We didn’t ask ChatGPT. We asked Otis.

When they say what happens in Milan stays in Milan… they clearly haven’t met Otis! The Salone del Mobile.Milano might be the world’s biggest design event, but our post-show celebration turned into something even bigger.
They say you need a dancing llama to go viral. Well, we didn’t.

These numbers continue to amaze me:

  •  4.5M views
  • 45K new design enthusiasts joining the JORI journey

But here’s what really matters: behind these numbers are real people connecting with authentic design. Every like, share, and comment represents someone who paused their scrolling because they saw something that spoke to them.

Who needs a dancing llama when you have these content creation secrets?

  • In the particular lies the universal: people connect with designs they can relate to.
  • Let the images do the talking, that’s why video was invented.
  • Show up consistently, respond in each person’s preferred language, and demonstrate authenticity through actions.
  • And don’t forget to hope for a sprinkle of algorithmic luck.

A special thanks to everybody at JORI, Otis for capturing the magic & Koen Verhaert for designing the Como.
